Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL) in Laval

The TAL (Tribunal administratif du logement) office in Laval is at 1434, boulevard Daniel-Johnson, a short walk from downtown Laval and the Montmorency terminus. It serves the entire Laval region, whose rental stock (largely built between the 1970s and 1990s) generates plenty of repair and rent-fixing cases.

Sending a document to the TAL

Important: no mail should be sent to the address of the Laval office. Any mail intended for the tribunal must be addressed to its head office: Village olympique, 5199, rue Sherbrooke Est, bureau 2360, Montréal (Québec) H1T 3X1. Most applications can also be filed and paid for online on the TAL website, without leaving home.

Régie du logement or TAL: what's the difference?

None: it's the same tribunal. The Régie du logement became the Tribunal administratif du logement on August 31, 2020. The old name “régie du logement” is still widely used, and in English the TAL is often called the Quebec rental board, the rental tribunal or the housing tribunal, but every recourse, form and office now falls under the TAL.
